A NEW PERSPECTIVE
Substrate Gallery - Los Angles, CA - June 2019
Ashlee Banxxs' body of work titled "A New Perspective" comes from her interest in art and science in which one attempts to understand the two subjects that describe the world around them. Geometric optics create rays of color which travel in straight lines and bend when they pass through or reflect from surfaces.
Each painting displays the dispersion of light and gives it a tangible form. Isaac Newton explained how white light is a mixture of colored light and how each color is refracted to a different point. The monochromatic color rays in each of this artist's paintings describe Isaac Newton's works in contemporary art form.
